A little more perspective
The USGS eastern-summit table lists Mount Washington at 6,288 feet from the 1982 quadrangle, approximately 1,916.6 meters. This Copernicus section has a highest sample of about 1,913 meters in EGM2008. As a surface model, it can include the effects of summit buildings and vegetation; it is not a bare-rock survey or a measurement to the top of an observatory antenna.
The local-relief view subtracts the lowest sampled point in this section: 491.9 meters at 44.301944° latitude, -71.235000° longitude. This produces about 1,421 meters of relief within the stated boundary. It is not a universal mountain base, a route’s total ascent, or topographic prominence.
The rendered surface uses the public 2021 Copernicus release, primarily based on TanDEM-X observations from 2011–2015 with infill from other sources. It is a surface model rather than a current bare-earth survey. Neutral shading explains the geometry without claiming a snow season or photographic ground texture. No datum conversion or summit correction is applied.
