I’m Ishan Karunaratne, the independent operator of What’s Taller?, based in New Jersey, USA. This site brings real landmarks, launch vehicles, people, and fictional subjects into one height-comparison scene.

A number becomes easier to picture when it stands beside something familiar. You can build a lineup, add a reference person at your own height, explore it at a consistent scale, and share the result with an explanation. The site is for a general audience of curious visitors, learners, and fiction fans.

How the facts are presented

Each catalog record pairs a height in meters with a measurement definition and an evidence label. References link to the source of the claim, such as a landmark’s operator, a museum, or NASA. A short answer comes first, followed by context and the source list.

Fictional versions and uncertain reconstructions need extra care. Reported fictional heights are identified by continuity or version. Illustration assumptions are labeled as estimates and kept separate from established measurements. Changing a scene value creates a what-if comparison; it does not change the source.

Source-check dates describe recorded reviews, not a promise that every source is continuously monitored. If a measurement needs correction, send the record and supporting source so I can investigate.

What the illustrations can tell you

The artwork is scaled to the declared heights, but the images are interpretive illustrations. They are not photographs, surveyed geometry, certified reconstructions, or official character depictions. Poses and outlines can differ from the subject they represent.

You can use the tool without an account and export a comparison for a presentation, a research project, or a social post.
