A little perspective
What’s Taller? (Whats Taller) is a free height comparison tool for placing people, animals, buildings and fictional characters side by side at the same scale. Enter your own height, choose subjects from the library, and turn the lineup into a shareable comparison chart for a class project, presentation or social post.
The tool helps you see what a height difference means and check where each number comes from. Each subject reference identifies its measurement, sources and any version or estimate. Artwork is interpretive, including AI-assisted illustrations; it is not measurement evidence. Unverified dragon sizes carry a “Height pending” label. Read the measurement and artwork notes, or send a correction with a supporting source to [email protected].
Subtract the shorter height from the taller height, using the same unit. A person who is 180 cm tall stands 15 cm above someone who is 165 cm tall. That is about 5.9 inches, using 2.54 cm per inch.
A chart makes that gap visible. The tool keeps subjects on a common baseline and preserves their relative height when you zoom. You can add your height beside catalog people and characters; changing Add yourself updates your own reference.
Try a Charizard and human height comparison, place Godzilla beside the Eiffel Tower, or check Optimus Prime’s height and Shaquille O’Neal’s listed height before adding yourself. Fictional versions and estimated sizes are labeled in the source notes.
Explore building height comparisons, compare T. rex with a human, or line up Saturn V, Falcon 9 and the Space Shuttle. Check whether a measurement includes an antenna, pedestal or launch stack.
Godzilla’s height depends on the film. Toho lists the original 1954 Godzilla at 50 meters (about 164 feet). Japan’s Media Arts Festival gives Shin Godzilla’s 2016 size as 118.5 meters (about 389 feet), the reference used here for its upright fourth form. These are different fictional incarnations, not one creature with a universal height.
For a Godzilla size comparison, choose Godzilla through the films in Discover. The group includes Godzilla (1954), Shin Godzilla, MonsterVerse Godzilla (2019) and Godzilla Evolved (2024). Each reference explains its chosen height. You can also compare Godzilla’s height with Saturn V, add yourself, and download the chart with its source notes.
Yes. The Compare menu has separate modes for length and span, planetary diameter, depth and terrain elevation. A whale’s body length and a person’s standing height describe different axes. Use the mode that matches your question, and read the definition on each subject reference.
Subjects share a physical scale, but the artwork is interpretive. Measurements may be official, source reported or explicitly estimated. People’s listed heights, animal reference sizes and fictional versions each have qualifications. Every subject page includes the measurement definition, evidence and source notes. Read how the measurements and artwork are used.
Download the PNG with its source notes so the definitions and estimates travel with the picture. Check the reuse terms for site-owned content and third-party rights. A shared scene link lets someone reopen the same lineup and explore it themselves.
