A little more perspective
China’s national summit-height announcement, republished by Sichuan’s housing and construction department in 2009, gives Jade Emperor Peak as 1,532.7 meters. The 2003 Chinese submission hosted by UNESCO used an older 1,545-meter reference and provides the center coordinate used here. This Copernicus surface reaches approximately 1,532 meters in EGM2008. The close numerical agreement with one listing is not evidence that the dataset has surveyed the summit monument.
The local-relief view subtracts the lowest sampled point in this section: 173.4 meters at 36.225833° latitude, 117.162778° longitude. This produces about 1,358 meters of relief within the stated boundary. It is not a universal mountain base, a route’s total ascent, or topographic prominence.
The rendered surface uses the public 2021 Copernicus release, primarily based on TanDEM-X observations from 2011–2015 with infill from other sources. It is a surface model rather than a current bare-earth survey. Neutral shading explains the geometry without claiming a snow season or photographic ground texture. No datum conversion or summit correction is applied.
