A little more perspective

The Smithsonian Tengger Caldera profile lists Bromo as a distinct 2,329-meter subfeature. Batok, Kursi and Watangan are other cones in the same complex. This narrowly bounded Bromo crater-area grid reaches approximately 2,382 meters in EGM2008 on the southern rim area, about 399 meters from the crater-center coordinate. The numerical difference is not a revised summit survey. The grid is visibly coarse at this scale, and the surrounding Tengger massif is omitted.

The local-relief view subtracts the lowest sampled point in this section: 2135.7 meters at -7.942500° latitude, 112.953333° longitude. This produces about 247 meters of relief within the stated boundary. It is not a universal mountain base, a route’s total ascent, or topographic prominence.

The rendered surface uses the public 2021 Copernicus release, primarily based on TanDEM-X observations from 2011–2015 with infill from other sources. It is a surface model rather than a current bare-earth survey. Neutral shading explains the geometry without claiming a snow season or photographic ground texture. No datum conversion or summit correction is applied.
