The selected drop runs from the cliff lip to the main fall's base. It excludes the many additional waterfalls upstream in Skógá and the broader height of the surrounding landscape.
The regional destination page and its 2025 map use 60 meters. Another regional itinerary says 62 meters without matching survey details, so this entry retains the main site's rounded 60-meter reference and does not imply centimeter precision.
