How long is a dreadnoughtus schrani?

Drexel’s 2014 discovery account gives Dreadnoughtus a reconstructed length of 26 meters. This extended-neck illustration uses that dated total-length estimate.

A little more perspective

The discovery team’s fact sheet lists 26 meters alongside a rounded 85 feet. This record preserves the stated metric estimate rather than treating the two rounded numbers as exact equivalents. Missing anatomy was reconstructed, and the larger fossil individual had not finished growing.

The long neck is extended forward and the tail backward so the full outline represents length. The revised illustration restores a longer neck relative to its compact torso. It does not reproduce the research skeleton bone for bone or independently establish each body segment’s dimensions; muscle, skin and coloration remain interpretive.
