A little more perspective
The 2021 Journal of Iberian Geology study identifies the 9.7-meter AMNH 680 estimate and attributes it to Campione and colleagues. Other specimens and reconstruction methods give different lengths. The Natural History Museum also lists 9.7 meters for Allosaurus, but that genus-level figure does not make every species or individual the same size.
The side view shows the paired brow ridges, three-fingered hands and long balancing tail. Its whole snout-to-tail outline carries the length reference. Scale pattern, coloration, soft tissues and exact posture are interpretive; the fossil-based length should not be mistaken for a measurement of those features.
