A little more perspective

The monastery explicitly defines the 70-meter component as including the three-tier bronze lotus platform. Adding the 6-meter granite base gives 76 meters. The lotus must not be counted a second time, and the surrounding courtyard is outside this measurement.

The white surface is painted bronze, above the darker lotus platform. A pearl and vase distinguish the hands. This full monument is five meters taller than the catalog’s 71-meter Leshan Buddha, although the sculptures have very different poses.
