A little more perspective
Archaeologist Erick M. Ponciano’s account of the conservation project reports 70 meters including the supporting base. The lower platform, steep pyramid and summit temple belong to this same architectural total; their component heights are not added a second time.
Vegetation can hide much of the pyramid in photographs. The comparison isolates the architectural mass, including its support platform, and carries the height to the surviving roof comb. It does not measure the building above a distant valley or reconstruct a lost taller monument.
