A little more perspective
Jonkman and colleagues define a ninety-meter hub height and a 126-meter rotor diameter in the NREL five-megawatt baseline model. This is a specified research reference turbine, not a measured operating installation. The model’s reference plane is ground or mean sea level according to the support configuration.
The frontal illustration shows three blades separated around the hub, with one pointing upward. The selected dimension ends at the hub center rather than the moving blade tip.
