A little more perspective

Avatar’s official Pandorapedia gives the Great Leonopteryx a wingspan of up to 31 meters. This comparison selects that upper species reference and the creature’s 2009 film appearance. The value is a maximum wingspan, not an exact measurement of Jake Sully’s individual mount, a standing height or the size of a stage puppet.

The dorsal-view illustration extends the two large primary wings from left to right. Their tips set the comparison axis; the smaller rear wings, head crest and tail describe the creature’s outline without supplying independent dimensions.

Quick facts

The Great Leonopteryx is shown at the official Pandorapedia’s upper species wingspan of 31 meters, using its 2009 film appearance.
