A little more perspective
The December 2023 MUTCD specifies a seven-foot minimum mounting height in the stated business, commercial or residential conditions where parking, pedestrian or bicycle movements can affect visibility. Its reference is the curb top, or the near edge of the traveled way where there is no curb. This illustration chooses exactly seven feet for a level, no-curb comparison; it does not claim that every stop sign has this height.
The selected 2.1336 meters ends at the lower edge of the red panel, leaving the panel itself above the marker. The post and sign are illustrative, with a nominal 30-inch panel appearance and no separately calibrated panel width. This is a dated dimensional example, not an installation design.
