A little more perspective

American Cinematographer’s June 1984 account of the Ghostbusters effects production states that Stay Puft was conceived as 120 feet tall. This record selects that nominal concept height, equivalent to 36.576 meters, for the original film. Published figures differ: The Story Behind Ghostbusters gives 112.6 feet. The selected value is therefore identified as a production reference, rather than a uniform measurement of every shot.

The effects crew filmed Bill Bryan inside a costume and combined that footage with miniature sets and city plates. The comparison represents the giant fictional mascot, not the performer or physical costume. The illustration uses one upright pose with the sailor cap included in the overall outline.
