A little more perspective
Lucasfilm’s Databank lists a 9.04-meter height and includes Return of the Jedi among this walker’s appearances. The record uses the 1983 film design, with the whole vehicle standing on a shared baseline. This is a published fictional dimension, not the size of a filming miniature.
Leg position matters when looking at the AT-ST. Bending those long joints lowers its cabin, so a screenshot of a moving walker would not necessarily show the full listed height. The illustration fixes one upright pose and leaves detailed component proportions interpretive.
Quick facts
The Imperial scout walker is listed at 9.04 meters tall. This reference uses its upright Return of the Jedi configuration; a crouched or collapsed walker occupies a different vertical space.
