A little more perspective
Sideshow’s August 2009 production description says its AMP suit maquette was made from scans of the 14-foot suit used by Legacy Effects during filming. This comparison selects that nominal full-size production reference, equivalent to 4.2672 meters, for Avatar’s original AMP design. It does not use the much smaller collectible’s dimensions or claim a separate digital-model survey.
The official Pandorapedia describes the Amplified Mobility Platform as a human-operated walking machine. The illustration shows the cockpit, mechanical hands and broad feet in a neutral upright configuration; its full outline carries the selected production height.
Quick facts
The original-film AMP suit uses the 14-foot full-size suit documented by Sideshow’s collaboration with Legacy Effects.
